A colorful school flyer titled “In Celebrating National School Breakfast Week, MES is kicking off Reading Madness Month with Books and Breakfast.” The flyer invites family members to join students for breakfast on designated days and asks families to call the school by February 25th to reserve a spot. It explains that breakfast costs $3.00 and tickets will be given at check‑in. In the center is an illustration of an open green book labeled “Winner,” surrounded by a light green tournament-style bracket design. Small images of toast, fruit, and breakfast items decorate the flyer. Event details listed: – Monday, March 2, 2026: Kindergarten and 1st Grade from 7:40–8:15 in the cafeteria; Preschool from 7:40–8:15 in the classroom. – During this time: Reading Madness books will be available for families to read and vote on with their student. – Tuesday, March 3, 2026: 2nd and 3rd Grades from 7:40–8:15. – Wednesday, March 4, 2026: 4th and 5th Grades from 7:40–8:15.
This is a reminder that beginning tomorrow, February 17, 2026, parents and guardians will no longer be permitted to walk students past the office entrance in the mornings. Families should drop students off at the front entrance, and our staff will ensure they get safely to their classrooms.

If you need to speak with your child’s teacher, please contact the school to schedule a time during the teacher’s planning period. This ensures that conversations take place during an appropriate time when teachers are available and not supervising students.

If you need to drop off items for your child or their classroom, please bring them to the office. Our office staff will be happy to deliver items to teachers as needed.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we work to keep MES a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

📚 Professional Learning Day Spotlight!

Today, our staff participated in the I Love U Guys® School Safety training, led by the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security at Pocahontas County High School. This important session helped ensure that all of us are prepared, informed, and unified in our commitment to keeping students safe.

After the countywide training, teams returned to their individual schools to review and strengthen their own safety plans—working together to support a safe, secure learning environment for every student.

We’re grateful for our dedicated staff and partners who help make safety a top priority every day. ❤️🏫💛

Shoutout to First Citizens Bank for providing donuts for our staff to start the day off right! 😍
